These pictures were taken around 1994-95. They look better on my Mac than on the Web. Maybe the compression did something to them. I'm going to have to doctor the colors with Photoshop - give them the equivalent of MSG! The coastal photos were taken near Melbourne, and the mountain photos in the Blue Mountains near Sydney.

Adelaide

These pictures were taken in or near Adelaide, Australia. The first few pictures give a good feeling of the Australian countryside, with its blue skies and Eucalyptus trees. The last few pictures are from the Adelaide botanical gardens. The Australians continue the English tradition of maintaining splendid botanical gardens in their big cities. The city of Adelaide is attractive with much fine architecture and pleasant residential neighborhoods. It is surrounded by ocean and vineyards. Thank you, Justin, for the delicious meal of kangaroo and wine. Kangaroo meat is quite tasty, like venison.

Melbourne

Melbourne is a large, cosmopolitan city with banks, museums, etc. Like Adelaide, it has gorgeous botanical gardens, as shown in the pictures on the bottom. It also has fantastic scenery along the ocean, as seen in the introductory photos above. The monument is for Australia and New Zealand's war dead.

Sydney

Sydney is blessed with one of the best harbors in the world. Many elegant villas with yachts line the water. I've left out pictures of the harbor and bridge, since they are easy to find. The approach into Sydney shows typical Australian aerial coastal vistas. The ceiling is more ornate than anything I expected to find down under. Sydney has a sizable Chinese population, so I enjoyed many delicious meals. The last image is my attempt at an 'arty' photograph.
